The LocalityThe villa is situated in the classified hillside village of La Teuliere, 3.5km along a sealed road from the village of Gagnac-sur-Cere. It is 7.7km from the Bastide (walled) town of Bretenoux on the banks of the Cere in the Dordogne valley. Views down the valley from the Villa are exceptional with an unspoiled countryside studded with medieaval villages. La Teuliere is a great base for those wanting to explore rural France. Guests appreciate the authentic, historical and cultural sites; fine moderately priced restaurants with local cuisine and wine, and, sometimes, just total relaxation with nature and history. The VillaThe house was originally a farmhouse built from local honey coloured stone with walls upto 2 feet thick & has 3 levels. The roof is of authentic “Quercy” tiles with dormer windows. The lofty living room with its exposed original oak beams - numbered with Roman numerals & joined with wooden pegs, was the barn dating back to the 1700’s. It opens out onto the terrace & a vista of rolling hills & valleys. The house now provides modern comforts & facilities while retaining its charm & character. For us it is a home away from home, as it has been for our many guests from Australia, New Zealand, USA & Ireland. With its 3 double bedrooms it will accommodate 6 persons comfortably, but is equally well suited for 2 persons with bedrooms 2 & 3 being on the second floor. See more detail on the villa including floorplan. Detailed information on all aspects of a stay at La Teuliere is available in our brochure which you can download at the link below. Book Now |
